Meet the Crowfoot Crew
“Service is Our Business” is much more than just a slogan to us. While the words are featured on the back of every uniform worn by our employees, these words are our way of life and our commitment to you.
When the Alberta liquor industry privatized in 1994, brothers Terry and Don Richardson founded Crowfoot Wine & Spirits with the opening of our first location in Crowfoot Centre NW. With roots in Alberta stretching back for generations and a true vision of success, they set about building a family-run company that would stand the test of time.
Founded on the principles of; customer service, selection and value, we constantly strive to provide each and every one of our customers with the finest shopping experience in the liquor industry. We are regularly updating our in-house product knowledge training programs, something that all of our employees are required to pass, as well as sending our employees to various destinations around the world to better learn about the products we sell. We firmly believe that if we are going to sell it, we had better know about it in order to provide you with exceptional service and effectively assist you with your selections as well as make informed suggestions around food pairings, cocktail recipes, etc.
While this knowledge is important in what we do, it’s the family-run aspect of our business that defines who we are. All of our employees are our family and this is the customer service feeling we set out to create in all our stores. When you choose to shop with us, you are one of the family! Of course none of this matters if we don’t have what you’re looking for. In Alberta we have access to over 20,000 liquor products and regularly stock over 8,000 of them in our Signature NW store. All of our 12 satellite locations around Calgary, Cochrane and Strathmore have access to this stock, so your special item is never more than a day or two away. We believe that all this combined adds up to the kind of value our customers deserve and should expect from us each and every day.
If it’s events you love, we have that too! Our Event Centre located at our Signature NW location hosts dozens of educational events year-round. Complete with a full, open kitchen, resident Sommelier, Event Chef and room for up to 150 guests, the Event Centre is also available for private parties, receptions, corporate team-building or any other private event you can think of. We are committed to making your event a success so if you have a theme you’d like to use, just let us know!
We are proud and humbled to be chosen by over 150 of Calgary’s best restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs as their liquor supplier. Our 30,000 ft² state-of-the-art warehouse, dedicated staff, multiple delivery trucks and a strong commitment to accuracy and deadlines have allowed us to meet their needs since our inception.
Our greatest source of pride however, comes from our ability to give back to our community. Over the years we have donated to hundreds of worthwhile causes which directly benefit those in our community who need assistance. We also form lasting partnerships with organizations in order to provide a larger impact to the organization. We have been a proud supporter of Hearts 4 Arts for the last 3 years in support of the Performing Arts Youth Centre. As well, we are proud to support the Calgary Health Trust Rockyview Invitational Golf Tournament and the Alberta Cancer Foundation & the Team TaTa’s Fundraising Team with their efforts to make a difference for all Albertans and their families facing cancer.
At Crowfoot Wine & Spirits, we have one of the best and brightest teams in the industry. We prefer to hire locally and promote from within, passing on the benefits to the local communities supporting our stores. We are proud to employ over 150 people in our organization; from those who have joined us for their first-ever job to many who have made their career with us.
